There does not appear to have been a formal announcement yet but at least two securities litigators from Heller Ehrman — Sara Brody and Michael Rugen — have joined Sidley Austin as partners in the law firm’s San Francisco office. As of Wednesday night, the Sidley website now lists both Brody and Rugen as being resident in that office.
Brody was the Chair of Heller Ehrman’s Securities Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on complex securities litigation, including class actions and derivative litigation.
Rugen was the original co-chair of Heller Ehrman’s Securities Litigation Practice Group, having joined that firm in 1979. He practices complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on the full range of shareholder litigation and special investigations.
It is unclear at this time who else, if anyone, has joined Sidley from Heller Ehrman. Securities Docket will update this on Thursday.
