You know that you have become notorious when a major law firm names an advisory group after you. Holland & Knight announced today that it has “formed a Madoff Advisory Group to help clients with strategies related to any losses resulting from involvement with entities controlled by Bernard Madoff.”
The firm announced that the Madoff Advisory Group will assess claims against the Madoff entities, position clients to head off third-party claims and provide access to governmental relief for clients, Hogan said in a statement.
We shall see whether this new type of practice group spreads, the way the “financial crisis” practice groups have spread to over 30 law firms as of today (see our Law Firm Financial Crisis Group Hub).
