Australia: ASIC to cut 50 jobs from its front line

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is slashing its ability to fight white-collar crime after being denied extra funding by the federal government.

At least 80 jobs will be cut, mostly from the commission’s deterrence group, which contains its front-line investigators.
