Michael F. Buchanan, a former AUSA in New Jersey, has joined law firm Jenner & Block’s office in New York. He will be a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property and White Collar Criminal Defense and Counseling Practices. Mr. Buchanan has spent the past nine years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Jersey, the last two of which he served as chief of the office’s Securities and Health Care Fraud Unit.
Jenner announced in a press release today that while with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Buchanan handled cases including the securities fraud conviction of Walter Forbes, the Chairman of the Board of Cendant Corporation; the investigation of individuals involved in the Medicaid double billing scheme at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; and the convictions of an FBI analyst and his co-conspirator for espionage and a Deputy U.S. Marshal on corruption charges.
