Hogan & Hartson announced today that the firm is adding 10 senior lawyers from law firm Heller Ehrman, including the former co-chairs of that firm’s securities litigation practice. Hogan announced that it is adding West Coast offices in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, as well as adding litigators to its established office in New York City.
Hogan stated that the addition of the Heller Ehrman lawyers “enables us to expand our range of experience throughout the firm. This is particularly true in the securities litigation area, where we are strengthening our existing national white collar and securities class action litigation practices.”
The firm stated that the San Francisco office additions will include:

- Douglas M. Schwab, Of Counsel
- Howard S. Caro, Partner
- Megan Dixon, Partner
The Silicon Valley office additions will include:
- Norman J. Blears, Partner
- Michael L. Charlson, Partner
- Robert B. Hawk, Partner
- Laurence A. Weiss, Partner
The firm will also add these lawyers in the New York office:
- Robert B. Buehler, Partner
- Kenneth Kirschner, Partner
Hogan further stated that Shepard, Charlson, and Caro were the “lead trial lawyers in one of the only securities class action matters to go to trial since the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995.”
