Patrick Murphy Joins Wilmer Hale from SEC

Patrick Murphy has joined WilmerHale as counsel in its Palo Alto office. The firm announced that Murphy has joined its Securities Department, and is a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Murphy served as a Branch Chief in the San Francisco Regional Office of the SEC. While at the SEC, Mr. Murphy was responsible for leading some of the most significant enforcement matters in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, including the first options backdating case in the country (against Brocade), the prosecution of complex financial frauds, investment adviser and broker-dealer misconduct, insider trading, offering frauds and market manipulation schemes.
