Securities Docket launched its Twitter feed on September 15, and has spent a month or so trying to understand how Twitter can help securities litigation counsel and the other professionals who are our readers. Our conclusion for now is that Twitter has a lot of potential as both a publishing platform as well as an information-gathering tool.
The difficulty with Twitter as an information-gathering tool for Securities Docket readers is that it seems like 99% of the “tweets” (i.e., posts) on Twitter are just noise that our readers are not likely to want to spend time reviewing. There is gold in that last 1%, however, so to that end, Securities Docket has created our own list of “Twitter Feeds for Securities Counsel.” These feeds from sources such as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and of course Securities Docket, as well as from select individuals who are using Twitter to publish securities-related content, are a great source of real-time information.
