Federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s office in the SDNY have received an agreement from Bernard Madoff’s lawyers to push back the deadline for prosecutors to convince a grand jury to indict the New York money manager on fraud charges or show at a public court hearing that there was “probable cause” to arrest him.
The deadline had been today, but Mr. Madoff’s lawyers agreed on Friday to give the government until mid-February, the WSJ reports. The delay provides prosecutors with additional time to investigate Madoff and others without having to prepare for trial, or negotiate a deal in which he agrees to plead guilty to certain charges in exchange for a lower prison sentence, the WSJ reports.
Also in the Madoff case today, U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald Ellis, is expected to rule on whether to revoke Madoff’s bail, as requested by prosecutors last week (discussed here).

This is just another blatant display for “money getting you off”. This man should be put under the jail. I don’t believe this man has ANY scruples and I believe he has a price tag on his mother! What a sleeze in those expensive suits. His attorney should be charged as an accessory!
Let him rot in prison and I believe that’s too good for him.
