Pres. Obama Selects Lanny Breuer as Assistant AG for DOJ’s Criminal Division

President Obama has named Lanny A. Breuer as Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ’s Criminal Division.  The Federal Times reports that the selection was made last week along with three other key Assistant AG positions ( David Kris, assistant AG for national security; Tony West, assistant AG for the Justice Department’s civil division; and Christine Varney, assistant AG for the antitrust division).

According to his law firm bio, Breuer is presently co-chair of Covington & Burling’s White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group, where he specializes in white collar criminal and complex civil litigation, internal corporate investigations, congressional investigations and antitrust cartel proceedings.

    Congratulations Lanny. I remember back when you were an ADA in NY. Listening to you then, it’s no wonder you have come so far! Congratulations! All the best to you, Nancy and the boys.
