New Jersey Senators Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez have recommended that Pres. Obama appoint former federal prosecutor Paul J. Fishman (pictured) as the next U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. Fishman is currently in private practice after 14 years as a prosecutor in New Jersey and Washington.
Asbury Park Press reports that Fishman worked as a federal prosecutor from 1983 to 1994 on matters including complex securities litigation, and was chief of both the criminal division and narcotics section before eventually becoming first assistant. He is now a partner at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman, handling civil and white-collar criminal cases.
Fishman’s pending nomination will require confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
