By Securities Docket on February 17, 2009, 5:21 pm

Michael B. Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States and Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, will join Debevoise & Plimpton as a partner in its New York office later this month.  The firm announced today that Judge Mukasey will join the firm’s Litigation Department, and will focus his practice primarily on internal corporate and other investigations, independent board reviews, corporate governance, monitorships and other similar representations.

Judge Mukasey served on the bench of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for 18 years, six as Chief Judge.  He later served from November 2007 until January 2009 as U.S. Attorney General, overseeing the United States Department of Justice.
