  1. If the SEC wouldn’t listen to you why didn’t you care enough to go to the press with this information! You contributed to my being a victim! You are basking in some kind of glory now when you shoudld be feeling profound sadness for all the Bernard Madoff people who did not know what was happening. You could have potentially saved me, my elderly and now impoverished parents, siblings and our children the heartache and suffering we are now forced to experience. I say shame on you…you are no hero to me!

  2. […] Thanks to Bruce Carton and Securities Docket for pointing out the interview: Sunday Night: Harry Markopolos on 60 Minutes. […]

  3. Lori,

In fairness to Markopolis, he did say he feared for his life in revealing such information. That seems a little paranoid to me, but he would have been in a position to know more than me, so I find it hard to second guess him.

And also in fairness, I’m mindful of David Einhorn’s experience with the press trying to get them interested in some securities violations. I can all too easily envision the vast majority of the press saying, ‘hey if you can’t convince the SEC, I’m not going to go out on a limb.’
