David DeMuro Joins O’Melveny & Myers in New York

David A. DeMuro has joined law firm O’Melveny & Myers as senior counsel in its New York office.  The firm announced on Thursday that DeMuro has joined its Securities Enforcement and Regulatory Counseling (SERC) Practice.  DeMuro is the former Global Head of Compliance and Regulation for Lehman Brothers.

DeMuro’s practice will focus on advising and representing broker-dealers, hedge funds, private equity firms, and investment advisers in SEC, FINRA, and state enforcement inquiries, investigations, proceedings, and appeals.   He is a 34-year veteran of the securities industry, and spent the first ten years of his career at the SEC, first as an enforcement attorney and later as a member of its Office of General Counsel.
