SEC Enforcement Going Forward With Plan to Eliminate Branch Chief Position

The SEC is going forward with its plan to eliminate the branch chief position in the Division of Enforcement.  Bloomberg reports that Enforcement Director Robert Khuzami has disclosed the plan to senior officials in the Division, who are now explaining it to the staff.

The branch chief position is the lowest level of management in the Enforcement Division.  Branch chiefs typically oversee small teams of staff attorneys.  Bloomberg reports that some branch chiefs will now become front-line investigators, while others may be promoted to the position of assistant director.
