Patton Boggs Takes Over as Stanford’s Defense Counsel

R. Allen Stanford has changed his defense team after his most recent lawyer withdrew due to no “assurance of being paid for work in the future.” DealBook reports that the withdrawing attorney, Dick DeGuerin, said he received a fax from Stanford on Friday asking that the Washington, D.C. law firm of Patton Boggs serve as his counsel.

Patton Boggs says that partner Robert Luskin will lead Stanford’s criminal defense.
