U.S. Supreme Court Denies Nacchio Petition for Review

By Securities Docket on October 5, 2009, 1:34 pm

nacchio230The U.S. Supreme Court today rejected former Qwest CEO Joe Nacchio’s petition for a review of his insider trading conviction.  The Denver Post reports that the ruling doesn’t end Nacchio’s legal battles, however, as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has already ordered a new sentence. Nacchio is currently serving a six-year sentence.

Nacchio also reportedly has filed a motion for a new trial, arguing that new evidence uncovered since the conclusion of his trial in 2007 supports his position.
