The Galleon Group’s legal mess has turned into a boon for the lawyers hired to represent various individuals and entities in the matter. The Recorder lists some of the law firms benefiting, as follows:
- Intel has hired Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe to conduct an internal investigation.
- Polycom has asked Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to investigate allegations that an employee gave inside information to Roomy Khan, the key cooperating witness in the government’s case against Galleon. Kahn then allegedly passed it on to Raj Rajaratnam.
- Investor relations firm Market Street Partners has reportedly commenced an internal investigation into a former employee whom prosecutors say passed along inside information regarding Google, and has hired Ramsey & Ehrlich to represent it.
