Lev Dassin of SDNY Joining Cleary Gottlieb in New York office

clearythumbLev L. Dassin is joining law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton as a partner in its New York office. The NY Times reports that Dassin will join the firm and will handle white-collar and enforcement cases, and complex commercial civil litigation.

Dassin was the acting United States attorney for the Southern District of New York from December 2008 until Preet Bharara was confirmed by the Senate in August 2009.  He previously served as deputy United States attorney, and worked for nearly a decade as a prosecutor in two separate stints.
