Reuters reports that contrary to earlier reports that Madoff lieutenant Frank DiPascali had been released on bail, he remains in custody. Although the Federal Bureau of Prisons website now lists DiPascali as having been “released” on Nov. 12, two law enforcement sources told Reuters that while he has been moved from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, he remained in custody.
As previously discussed here, U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan has twice denied bail to DiPascali, saying there was too great a risk that he could flee before his sentencing.
