SEC’s George Curtis Rejoins Gibson Dunn

curtisGeorge Curtis, Special Advisor to the Director of the Division of Enforcement, has rejoined law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a partner in its Denver and D.C. offices. The firm announced today that Curtis has rejoined its Securities Enforcement practice.

Curtis joined the SEC staff in 2006 as the Regional Director of the SEC’s Denver Regional Office after 30 years in private practice with Gibson, Dunn. He was named a Deputy Director of the Division of Enforcement in 2008, and continued in that role until becoming Special Advisor in September 2009. Curtis shared the Deputy Director position from 2008-2009 with Scott Friestad.

Curtis was a panelist on Securities Docket’s April 28, 2009 webcast entitled, “Inside the SEC Enforcement Division: Important Changes Ahead” (archived version available here).
