Eric Bustillo has been named Regional Director of the SEC’s Miami Regional Office. The SEC announced yesterday that Bustillo joins it from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida where he is now an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Economic & Environmental Crimes Section. Bustillo will begin working at the agency in mid-January 2010.
Bustillo formerly served in the SEC’s Miami Regional Office from 1990 to 1995 as an enforcement staff lawyer and as a branch chief. In his new role as Regional Director, he will oversee the office’s enforcement and examination functions in five jurisdictions: Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
