Stanford Will Appeal Most Recent Denial of Bail

Allen Stanford plans to fight the court’s most recent denial of his request for bail. Stanford’s attorneys announced today that Stanford will appeal a December 23 ruling that will keep him in prison pending his trial in January 2011.

U.S. District Judge David Hittner denied Stanford’s bail request despite claims that Stanford is in failing health and on the verge of a “complete nervous breakdown” following six months behind bars, CNBC reports. Stanford now plans to appeal that ruling to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
