Alleged Co-Conspirator Named in Albertson’s Insider Trading Probe

By Amanda Harding on January 13, 2010, 12:12 pm

Jonathan Hollander, formerly of SAC Capital, has been identified as a key figure in the insider trading case involving Ramesh Chakrapani of Blackstone, DealBook reports. Chakrapani was previously accused of leaking details about the takeover of the Albertsons supermarket chain in 2006, which allegedly resulted in a $3.6 million illegal profit.

Chakrapani referenced unnamed co-conspirators while cooperating with the government. According to Dealbook, several reports indicate that one of the unnamed persons is Hollander. Government lawyers have since moved to dismiss the charges against Chakrapani, and have not charged Hollander or SAC Capital with any wrongdoing.
