DOJ’s Tyrrell Joining Weil, Gotshal in Washington, D.C.

Steven Tyrrell will join law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office effective February 1, 2010. The firm announced today that Tyrrell, who is the former Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Fraud Section, will serve as co-chair of its Investigations & Criminal Defense practice.

Tyrrell spent the past 20 years at the DOJ.  Prior to his appointment as Chief of the Fraud Section, he served as Deputy Chief of the Counterterrorism Section of the Criminal Division. Tyrrell also served as AUSA in the US Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of New York and the Southern District of Florida.
