On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff sentenced the former general counsel for Monster Worldwide, Myron Olesnyckyj, to one year of probation for his role in the company’s stock options backdating case. The Wall Street Journal reports that Olesnyckyj pleaded guilty in 2007.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Olesnyckyj faced a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. Judge Rakoff cited Olesnyckyj’s cooperation with authorities as the reason for his lenient sentence.
