Prosecutors Oppose Separate Trials in Galleon Case

On Friday, federal prosecutors opposed Raj Rajaratnam and Danielle Chiesi’s requests for separate trials in the Galleon case. Reuters reports that  prosecutors argued that the co-defendants executed a common plan to obtain inside information, exchanged that information with each other, and traded the same stocks on the same information during the same time period.

Rajaratnam, Chiesi and approximately twenty other traders also face civil charges from the SEC.
