Finra’s Susan Merrill to Join Bingham McCutchen in New York

By Securities Docket on April 12, 2010, 9:37 am

Susan Merrill will join law firm Bingham McCutchen LLP this week as a partner in its New York office. The WSJ reports that Merrill will lead Bingham’s enforcement practice and advise clients on regulatory and securities enforcement matters.

Merrill has served as Finra’s head of enforcement for three years, but announced last month that she would be be stepping down.  No successor has been named yet.

The WSJ reports that Merrill was hired by the New York Stock Exchange in 2004, and became head of enforcement at Finra in 2007 when the NASD merged with the regulatory arm of the NYSE to form Finra.
