By Securities Docket on June 7, 2010, 10:50 am

John P. Rowley III has joined Baker & McKenzie LLP as a partner in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. The firm announced last week that Rowley will work in the firm’s North American compliance, litigation, and white collar practices, as well as its global Compliance and Dispute Resolution practice.

Rowley joins Baker & McKenzie from Holland & Knight, where he co-chaired that firm’s white collar defense practice. Previously, Rowley served as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia.

The firm added that with the recent launch of the Virginia Financial and Securities Fraud Task Force, it anticipates that clients will face increasing pressure from prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia.
