Earlier this week, federal prosecutors filed civil lawsuits alleging that two of Bernard Madoff’s longtime “back office” employees “knowingly perpetuated” the fraud, the WSJ reports.
The lawsuits seek to seize about $5 million in assets from the two employees, Annette Bongiorno and JoAnn “Jodi” Crupi. Bongiorno, with the firm since 1968, was a supervisor of Mr. Madoff’s back-office staff. Crupi, with the company since 1983, took in client funds.
