Vivendi today hailed the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the National Australia Bank Ltd case that limits foreign shareholders’ rights to seek compensation in the United States, Reuters reports.
The holding is of particular importance to Vivendi, which is trying to exclude French shareholders from a U.S.-based class action lawsuit against it on whether it misled investors about its financial health. Vivendi stated that the ruling was “totally in line with the position defended all along by the group in the American and French courts.”
