David M. Howard Joining Microsoft Corp. as Deputy GC for Litigation

Dechert’s David M. Howard announced yesterday that after 20 years with the law firm, he will be joining Microsoft Corp. as corporate vice president and deputy general counsel in charge of litigation, The Legal Intelligencer reports. Howard is the co-chairman of Dechert’s 130-lawyer white-collar and securities litigation group.

MIcrosoft’s legal and corporate affairs department has more than 1,000 employees, including 459 lawyers across 44 countries. Howard has reportedly represented Microsoft in the past, including handling compliance work.
