Ex-Qwest CEO Nacchio Appeals Slight Reduction in Prison Sentence

By Securities Docket on July 7, 2010, 9:57 pm

Former Qwest Communications International Inc. CEO Joseph Nacchio has appealed the 70-month prison sentence that reduced his original term for insider trading by just two months.

U.S. District Judge Marcia Krieger in Denver issued the ruling last month after an appeals court ordered that Nacchio be resentenced because a trial judge incorrectly calculated his gains from stock sales. He has already served almost 15 months in prison, Bloomberg reports.
