Report: Grand Jury Insider Trading Probe May Involve Ex-Angels Baseball Players

By Securities Docket on July 9, 2010, 2:49 pm

Citing a Daily Journal article, LA Biz Observed reports that a federal grand jury in Santa Ana is looking into possible insider trading prior to the 2009 purchase of Advanced Medical Optics by Abbott Labs.  The grand jury reportedly is examining whether the CEO of Advanced Medical provided information to people, including former members of Major League Baseball’s Angels.

LA Biz Observed reports that “the grand jury has asked a series of questions about former Angels slugger Doug DeCinces. The prosecutors also believe that former Angels Dave Parker and Eddie Murray received information about the sale.”
