DOJ’s Steven Fagell to Join Covington & Burling in Washington, DC

Steven Fagell will join law firm Covington & Burling in August as a partner in Washington, DC. The firm stated this week that Fagell will join its white-collar defense and civil litigation practice.

Fagell is presently the deputy chief of staff to Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer. He was a partner at Covington before taking the DOJ post last year, The Blog of the Legal Times reports. At the DOJ, Fagell coordinated the Criminal Division’s involvement with the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force and the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.
