By Securities Docket on October 15, 2010, 9:47 am

Scott Black has joined hedge fund manager Hudson Bay Capital Management as its general counsel and chief compliance officer, Dow Jones Newswires reports. Black joins Hudson Bay from the SEC’s New York regional office, where he was an Assistant Regional Director in the Division of Enforcement.

While at the SEC, Black was one of the lead lawyers in the agency’s high-profile case against David Pajcin and Gene Plotkin. Prior to joining the SEC, Black was an M&A lawyer with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

The firm announced on Thursday that Black’s “broad regulatory experience in both the public and private sectors make him a strong addition to our institutional investment management platform.”
