OECD Praises Canada’s Mounties, Hits Anti-Bribery Legal Framework

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police International Anti-Corruption Unit, created in January 2008, has 20 active investigations into cases of alleged bribery, is in the middle of a prosecution and has already achieved one conviction. But the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Working Group on Bribery “is also concerned that Canada has not yet committed resources” for the oncoming deluge of cases connected to the investigations.
