A former patent lawyer was sentenced to 2½ years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to criminal charges as part of a broad probe into insider trading on Wall Street. Arthur Cutillo, a former lawyer with Ropes & Gray LLP, admitted in January to accepting more than $32,000 from his college friend, Jason Goldfarb, in exchange for nonpublic information about deals involving his law firm’s clients.
