Justice Dept Suffers Another FCPA Setback

By Securities Docket on January 18, 2012, 3:42 pm

Late Monday, U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes granted defendant John O’Shea’s motion to dismiss 12 Foreign Corrupt Practices Act counts and one conspiracy count against him.

The acquittal marks the third time in the last two months a federal judge has tossed out alleged violations of the FCPA, a 34-year-old law that prohibits bribes to foreign officials to win business.
