A study of mergers released by the legal consulting firm Cornerstone Research in January confirms that trend. For example, while there were more deals valued over $500 million in 2007, only 53 percent of them were subject to lawsuits. But in 2010 and 2011, the study says, between 95 and 96 percent of all mergers over that amount resulted in litigation. That means almost every merger or acquisition these days faces a legal challenge….
