The epic, year-plus long battle between the owners of the Mets and Irving Picard, the Madoff trustee, was officially put to rest yesterday in under five minutes.
The two formerly bitter enemies appeared before Manhattan federal judge Jed Rakoff to get final approval on a $162 million settlement hammered out in March — just as a trial over Picard’s legal allegations was set to begin.
