Judge Rejects SEC Settlement With ‘Defiantly Mute’ Defendants

Another federal judge has joined the growing number of jurists who disagree with the SEC’s “neither admit nor deny” settlement policy. A federal judge in Colorodo “refuse[d] to approve penalties against a defendant who remains defiantly mute as to the veracity of the allegations against him.”
