Judge Rejects Settlement Objectors’ Clever ‘Topping Bid’ Relying on Litigation Funder

Challenged by Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster to put their money where their mouth was and make an unusual “topping bid,” objectors to a settlement derivative action did just that. However, the objectors’ clever use of a litigation financing group as part of their competing proposal was not what the court had in mind.
