Matthew Martens to Join WilmerHale in Washington, D.C.

Matthew Martens will join law firm WilmerHale as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. The firm announced yesterday that Martens will join its securities and litigation practices.

Martens joins Wilmer from the SEC, where he served as chief litigation counsel for the Division of Enforcement. In that role, Martens managed the SEC’s cases nationwide and supervised the trial unit of 40 attorneys in Washington as well as litigators throughout the SEC’s 11 regional offices.

Martens previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of North Carolina, where he supervised prosecutors in the white-collar crime unit.
