House Ethics Committee Warns Congress: No Shares in Twitter IPO for You! – Compliance Week

Shortly before today’s highly-anticipated IPO of Twitter, the House Committee on Ethics issued a reminder that under the “Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge” Act (STOCK Act), members, officers, and employees of Congress are prohibited from participating in IPOs in a manner “other than is available to members of the public generally.”
