SEC’s Leading Enforcer  to Step Down at End of Year

Mr. Ceresney stated in an interview that Ms. White, whom he had previously worked alongside as a partner at the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton, would be the only S.E.C. leader he would work under. He said that he had not yet decided what he would do next. Mr. Ceresney’s deputy, Stephanie Avakian, will lead the enforcement division, until a permanent replacement is appointed.
