Stephen L. Cohen has joined law firm Sidley Austin LLP as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. The firm announced today that Cohen will be a member of its Securities & Derivatives Enforcement and Regulatory practice.
Cohen joins Sidley from the SEC, where he was Associate Director in the Division of Enforcement. Cohen departed the SEC in June 2016 after 12 years of service. Cohen joined the SEC in 2004 as an Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel in the Enforcement Division, and also served as Senior Adviser to SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro.
