Former Portfolio Manager Mathew Martoma Once Again Appeals Insider Trading Conviction | Business | indiawest.com

By Securities Docket on May 12, 2017, 1:39 pm

An attorney May 9 asked an appeals court in New York to reverse the 2014 insider trading conviction of Indian American Mathew Martoma, in the ex-portfolio manager’s second appeal.

Martoma, who is serving a nine-year prison sentence following his conviction on securities fraud and conspiracy charges in one of the most lucrative schemes ever, is hoping that the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan will see to it that he didn’t commit the crime, based on the legal definition of insider trading.
