Jones Day adds SEC’s former acting deputy director of enforcement, David Bergers, as a partner in Boston

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that David P. Bergers will join the Firm’s Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement Practice as a partner in its Boston Office. He brings nearly 25 years of industry experience — as a government regulator, corporate counsel, and practicing attorney — to Jones Day.

Mr. Bergers served at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for 13 years, most recently as acting deputy director of the enforcement division in Washington, DC, where he helped oversee more than 1,200 professionals responsible for protecting investors and the integrity of the U.S. financial markets. He also served as director of the SEC’s Boston regional office, managing an enforcement and examination staff of 150….
