After decades of being overshadowed by their corporate colleagues, white-collar crime lawyers are now among the most sought-after hires at London’s top firms.
Louise Hodges, head of the white-collar crime practice at Kingsley Napley, said “the headhunters are very busy”, while Jonathan Pickworth, a partner at US firm White & Case, described the sector as “very hot at the moment”.
“Every firm would love to have more white-collar capability,” said Nick Paleocrassas of the legal recruitment firm Major, Lindsey & Africa. “If [a law firm] has a motivated partner who is keen to jump ship, there will be 20 or 30 lining up to talk to them.”
