Government Cryptocurrency Cop Heads to Law Firm – WSJ

By Securities Docket on August 20, 2019, 9:16 am

The former government lawyer who managed Washington’s crackdown on cryptocurrency fraud is joining Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, a white-shoe law firm whose clients include some of Wall Street’s biggest banks and stock exchanges.

Robert Cohen, 47 years old, will become a partner at the firm in October. He spent 15 years at the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he supervised insider-trading enforcement and complex cases involving stock-market infrastructure before taking over the SEC’s Cyber Unit, which is dedicated to the threat of crypto fraud.
